Tardy Critic was founded on the idea that reviews of ten year old movies, removed from the hype and promotion, would provide better movie reviews. Our goal will be to watch films that were released 10 years ago and post our review on the 10th anniversary of the film appearing in theaters.
Our standards for reviews rely on one main question: Is it a good story and is it well told?
This is not to say we not focus on plot, character development, acting, cinematography, special effects, sound design, music, or other aspects of film. We’ll talk about that and more. As each person goes into a movie expecting something different, and each movie is designed for a different purpose, it would be silly to judge all movies by a single set of criteria.
We would love to hear your feedback. If you have ideas, suggestions, or take issue with anything we say, we’d love to hear from you. Half the fun about movies is discussing them with others, so let us know what you think.
